Music Video Week Part Seven: Karen Elson's "The Ghost Who Walks"? More Like The Babe Who Be's A Babe!

Anyone who knows me knows quite well that of the following things, I love them all:

Jack White, folk music with spooky overtones, red heads, some damn good bangs, catchy songs, and pretty people.

But note that one of the things I didn't list is "supermodels who want a career outside of standing around in expensive clothes". Maybe I'm just bitter about Tyra Banks attempted music career of a few years back before she decided she was Oprah. Maybe it's also once-admirable-model-turned-strung-out-groupie Irina Lazareanu's Sean Lennon collaboration that (thankfully) never came to fruition (because the demos were horrible) that's left me with a sour taste in my mouth. But let's face it: The vast majority of models are simply pretty faces. There are exceptions, like cute-as-a-button-AND-talented-artist Sasha Pivivorova, and a slew of French multitaskers like Vanessa Paradis. For the most part, however, models should stick to two things: Drugs and eating disorders. I kid, I kid! Okay, not really, for the most part, which is sad because neither of those things are admirable or cool but I'm pretty sure escaping the modeling industry healthy and drug free is just as rare as a ballerina without bulimia. Regardless, models shouldn't sing.

Usually.

You see, Jack White can do no wrong. Well, except for maybe that time he got in a pretty famous altercation at Detroit's Magic Stick. And I've been into looking at supermodel Karen Elson for quite some time, so when White shacked up with Elson, I was pretty positive she was more than just a glorified clothes hanger - Although White did date Renee Zellweger but hey, we all make bad choices now and then. I'm just lucky enough to not be photographed with mine.

With svengali White behind her, Elson has released her debut album, on White's own label, and the two combine all the things I love that I first listed at the beginning of this entry.

Instead of being a model who sings, I more see Elson as America's answer to Charlotte Gainsbourg, one of those French multitaskers I mentioned earlier, only guess what? Elson makes better music! No joke. And while I do love me some Charlotte, Elson might be better to look at. Seriously. Check the girl out in her video for "The Ghost Who Walks", the spookiest sexy folk song this side of Timber Timbre.

Wait, wait, wait - She's gorgeous and she plays guitar and sings beautifully?! Honestly, I can't tell if I want to be Karen Elson or just go full lesbian for her.
